Solorized

A birthday gift from my husband. A solarized lighthouse.

Are we not a lighthouse solarized by the Son?

Throughtout the spring, summer, and now fall, as the evening shadows came, I'd look out my living room window and see the light shining in the darkness. Lord you are that light in me shining in the darkness. What a comfort just to see the light.

(this was another one I had started in Aug and am now finishing up in Nov. Tying up lose ends again.)

The Growing Garden

In the previous posting I wrote about the critters that affect the garden. The solution given definately solved this problem. The plants began to grow.
Then another serious problem presented itself. Drought conditions began to prevail. Sunny, hot days with very little rain makes for dry, parched ground. I had watered some because I knew the plants needed the water---so droopy and sad, especially the cukes, tomatoes, watermelon etc. These really need lots of water to grow healthy. I cried out to the Lord to send rain. Not just for my garden, but for the water tables, the grass and hay, so the cattle and horses could eat. I dared not use our water to much because I didn't want to cause our well to run dry. I was praying for rain and so were the farmers. God is faithful and sent the rain even though the weather people said no rain expected. The grass and hay fields began to green up and my garden was taken care of. We are yet in drought conditions, rain is still desperately needed, but Our Father in heaven is taking care of the problem.
Now I'm harvesting the produce of the garden, enjoying the fresh taste and getting ready to preserve the overflow for the future.

ISAIAH 55:10(amplified)
For as the rain and snow come down from the heavens, and return not there again, but water the earth and make and make it bring forth and sprout, that it may give seed to the sower and bread to the eater.

I was reading in 1 Corinthians 3. Paul speaks of us being God's garden and our having right heart attitude towards the planting and the watering that we do of the Living Word, Christ Jesus. One plants, another waters, but God gives the increase.

I CORINTHIANS 3:6-9(amplified)
I planted, Apollos watered, but God(all the while) was making it grow and(He) gave the increase. So neither he who plants is anything nor he who waters, but(only) God who makes it grow and become greater. He who plants and he who waters are equal(one in aim, of the same importance and esteem), yet each shall receive his own reward(wages), according to his own labor. For we are fellow workmen(joint promoters, laborers together) with and for God; you are God's garden and vineyard and field under cultivation,( you are) God's building.

Summing up,

ISAIAH 55:11(amplified)
So shall My word be that goes forth out of My mouth: it shall not return to Me void(without producing any effect, useless), but it shall accomplish that which I please and purpose, and shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.

Such is God's Amazing Grace

Farmer

As you can see by the post date that I started this post in July. That's how fast the summer went. Now I'm just trying to tie up lose ends before the holidays.
James 5:7-8

So be patient, brethren,(as you wait) till the coming of the Lord. See how the farmer waits expectantly for the precious harvest from the land. (See how) he keeps up his patient(vigil)over it until it receives the early and late rains. So you also must be patient. Establish your hearts(strengthen and confirm them in the final certainty), for the coming of the Lord is very near.

Well here it is with Thanksgiving in less than a week away. Today I was finally able to go to my garden and begin the clean up process, so that it can be plowed and sown with winter grass to replenish the soil for next springs planting.
In spite of drought conditions I was given a plenteous harvest. The seed was protected and preserved
I certainly learned alot from the garden this year. The natural and spiritual working together with the Holy Spirit as my teacher and counselor and guide. Boy did I need wisdom for the challenges I encountered in order for patience to have her perfect work. Brother James was a constant source of help through out the growing season.

Critters in the garden

Anyone who plants a garden looks forward to harvesting what has been planted. A lot of hard work goes into a garden and one does not take to kindly to having it messed with by unwanted visitors. They come, they eat, they leave. In just one night they gorge themselves, leaving only stems, a pitiful reminder of what once was. They find ways to get beyond the fence, the scareowls, the little windmills and even the liquid fence. What does one do? How does one put a stop to these visitors helping themselves to the garden?

I asked the Lord for help to know how to deal with this problem. The advice given to me seemed a bit silly in the initial hearing of it, but I decided to try it anyhow. What could I lose? I was told to get baby powder and dust the plants. The assurance was given to me that the plants wouldn't be harmed and that the animals and bugs do not like the baby powder. Sure enough it worked. What plants remained began to grow again because the unwanted visitors stopped eating them. I did have to do some replanting but I am happy to say the garden is growing and I have been able to do some harvesting.
When I began to powder the plants, the sweet smell of the baby powder reminded me of this scripture in 2 Corinthians 2:14-16a(amplified). But thanks be to God, who in Christ always leads us in triumph(as trophies of Christ's victory) and through us spreads and makes evident the fragrance of the knowledge of God everywhere, for we are the sweet fragrance of Christ(which exhales) unto God,(discernable alike) among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing: to the latter it is an aroma(wafted) from death to death(a fatal oder, the smell of doom); to the former it is an aroma from life to life(a vital fragrance, living and fresh).

Our hearts are God's garden. He plants the seeds of life in us. We co-labor with Him in the tending and care of our hearts and His fragrance takes care of the unwanted visitors. These critters that come to steal, rob destroy the words of life He has planted.
