Before I move on to posting about the new season of Spring and my garden, I needed to finish this one and post it. Nature teaches us a whole lot, reveals so much to us. I do not like the cold nor do I like being cold. Still I can appreciate the purpose and the beauty of winter even more so as I get older. I understand that winter is a rest time for plants and trees. The saps goes to the roots and strengthens them as the roots go deeper into the soil. Winter is a time for us to rest too. I guess for me the cold does help to bring and keep me in a certain rest. For sure I'm not as active and much more laid back. So, in this light I can learn to like the cold. As I am getting older I am appreciating rest more and understand the overall benefits of it. Certain realities are being accepted, he, he. There is also a beauty to winter that is absolutely breathtaking. This winter passing has had many, many such breathtaking moments to reflect back on. As Spring is making itself known and stirs anticipation of good things to come, it is appropriate and so very important to take time to be thankful for what is and what has been.
